Trippy, fresh, and deceptively deep, Puddle is a welcome new addiction in my growing XBLA puzzle library. In fact, it even compares favorably to Portal – it’s an expertly designed experience, relies on consistent physics, and carries a simple, memorable aesthetic. 
Real depth, simple mechanics with truly challenging gameplay, unique aesthetic 
IDying for the 40th time because of that one f**king boiler 
For the right person, Puddle will get in your head and refuse to leave until you’ve unlocked every damned Au in the game. That’s precisely what makes it an excellent puzzler – and a completely pure experience.

A puzzle game is designed for challenge, yet what gamers need is a reward. It’s satisfying knowing you trained yourself well at a puzzle game, but where is the reward if the "skill" basically all comes down to lucky shots? With an easier set of levels, Puddle would be a lot more enjoyable. Unfortunately, there is a limit to how much frustration a gamer can take without reward.

If I had to boil puddle down to just one word, I think that would be “momentum.” While it is something that you will have to master to beat the various stages, it also sums of the story of the game quite nicely. The game originally was just a student project, where it won the 2010 Independent Games Festival Student Showcase Award. That momentum carried them all the way to PSN thanks to Neko Entertainment and Konami. Puddle to describe as simply as possible is a puzzle game involving fluids and physics. It is your task to get as much of your fluid, which you will have many types of in the game, from the start to the finish. If you lose too much of it, that is a game over. This is where the challenge comes into play. The levels are always changing Interconnecting levels and story Puzzles are challenging in the right way Great replay value Camera occasionally loses your puddle The explosive fluid Long loading time Puddle, while a challenge, makes you want to see more of what is in store for your fluid.

Puddle

Beautiful and varied visuals A diverse assortment of environments, liquids, and challenges. Unrelentingly high difficulty gets tiresome Too much reliance on trial and error. There's a lot to love about Puddle, but its better qualities are often drowned in a sea of frustrations.
